피크닉에서 열렸던 우에다 쇼지의 사진전을 함께 하였습니다.
20세기 일본 사진계를 대표하는 작가이자 연출 사진의 선구자인 우에다 쇼지의 단독 전시를 『우에다 쇼지 모래극장』이라는 타이틀로 선보였습니다.
1913년에 태어난 그는 일본의 소박한 시골 지역인 돗토리현이라고 하는 지역의 독특한 풍광인 바닷가와 거대한 모래언덕에서 촬영을 하였습니다. 우리들은 그의 사진에서 느껴지는 텍스츄어와 따뜻한 모습을 담기 위해서 패브릭을 사용하였습니다. 패브릭을 가공하는 다양한 방법을 통해서 전시 구성에 맞는 다양한 감정과 감촉을 전달하고 싶었습니다.
We attended a photo exhibition of Shoji Ueda held at the picnic. We presented a solo exhibition of Shoji Ueda, a representative artist of 20th century Japanese
photography and a pioneer of staged photography, under the title “Shoji Ueda Sand Theater.” Born in 1913, he took photos of the unique scenery of the seaside and huge sand dunes in Tottori Prefecture, a rural area in Japan. We used fabric to capture the texture and warmth felt in his photos. We wanted to convey various emotions and feelings that fit the composition of the exhibition through various methods of processing fabric.
